Liz Pickthall
Bio
Liz Pickthall’s journey into the world of metal detecting began with relentless curiosity and enthusiasm to join her dad out gold prospecting. She would eagerly pester her dad to take her along on his detecting trips, and those early adventures planted the seed for what would become a lifelong passion. It wasn’t long before Liz took matters into her own hands, heading out solo with a Minelab detector. When she discovered her first piece of gold, she was instantly hooked.
Determined to continue her success, Liz invested in her own Minelab SDC 2300 and embarked on detecting adventures with her stepmum, both sharing a love for finding that elusive, shiny yellow metal. Over the years, her skills sharpened, and her dedication grew. Today, Liz spends most of her free time exploring the rich goldfields of Victoria, wielding the powerful GPX 6000 and GPZ 7000 detectors. She has become renowned for her uncanny ability to uncover gold in even the most heavily searched areas.
Beyond gold prospecting, Liz also enjoys diversifying her detecting pursuits by practicing coin and treasure hunting with her Manticore. Her mastery over a range of equipment and her deep understanding of the land have made her a true expert in the field. Liz Pickthall’s story is one of passion, persistence, and an unparalleled knack for striking gold where others might see only well-trodden ground.
