Joel Jokelainen
Bio
Joel is originally from Finland and got into metal detecting because of his father, who explored, dived, and found shipwreck treasures on the coast of Finland around 20 years ago. He became active with metal detecting when he met Emil Nygård while studying Geology roughly ten years ago. They have been traveling the world together and metal detected in Finland, the UK, the USA, Germany, and Denmark in various exciting locations. They have been filming this all to our metal detecting YouTube channel called the True Vikings.
What he likes most about detecting is experiencing places and history from a different point of view that you would not get otherwise and the thrill of finding treasure. Even though they have found some great stuff together, including a 500-year old Gold Angel coin, the best find has been meeting all the great people excited by the same hobby on their travels.
